Martin Roothman founded Scorpions Martial Arts in 1996 and built it into a family of academies that has produced provincial, national and international champions. An 8x world kickboxing champion, including WPKA World Heavyweight Full Contact titles, and 9th Dan black belt, he has spent almost three decades teaching fighters, and more importantly, teaching character.
From Welkom to George to Paarl, and now home in Malmesbury, the Scorpions story continues, and the Swartland gets to train under one of the most experienced martial artists in the country.
At Scorpions Malmesbury there are no separate groups: everyone trains together in one class, beginners next to brown belts, kids next to their parents, all under the eye of Hanshi Martin Roothman.
Kickboxing technique, fitness, discipline and self-defence, with belt gradings three times a year to mark your progress. You start where you are, and the mat does the rest.
Mondays & Wednesdays, 18:00 to 19:00

Tuesday evenings: optional extra training for competitions.
